 Appian Bloodline Powers
« Thread Started on Nov 23, 2008, 4:20pm »

The following are Bloodline specific powers available to Flavius and his line only.

Feed/Gain Strength from Pain (Lesser Submissive)
The lowest level, one of the inborn ability variations that comes to all vampires of the bloodline almost immediately after rising their first night as a vampire.

While not as honed or as powerful as it can and will become over time, it is still a useful and somewhat enjoyable talent. Through it, the vampire can gain enough energy to sustain their hunger for short periods of time through recieving large amounts of physical pain and torture.

Not only does it stave off having to feed on blood for a short period of time (a few hours at most) it also becomes more and more pleasurable the more pain that is recieved. To the point where the more the pain builds, the less able to react to anything else the vampire is.

Feed/Gain Strength from Pain (Lesser Dominant)
The Second variation of the lowest form of this inborn ability, it also allows a vampire to keep their hunger at bay for short periods of time, but with this variation, the vampire must be the one inflicting pain. The stronger the pain given to another the longer the vampire can hold off without feeding.

Feed/Gain Strength from Pain (Submissive)
The fullest point of the Submissive variation of the Bloodline power. Through recieving pain the vampire is able to partially feed themselves and gain energy and strength from it.

When a submissive vampire of the Flavian bloodline recieves pain, it feeds them and raises their relative power level by 1 for a short period of time making them stronger and more resilient.

The downside to this however is as the vampire ages and with continued use, the vampire needs stronger and stronger levels of pain as time goes on to gain any effect from this at all, and it becomes extremely addictive to the point where the vampire can and will eventually crave being tortured near constantly and almost above all else.

A minor plus side to this side effect is that the vampire become resistant to any pain below their threshold. Not that they don't feel it, simply that it has no real effect on them any longer. They've become to used to a level of pain and anything else is just a minor annoyance, or a tease.

A useful side effect to this however, is that depending on the power level of the vampire and their ability to control their masochistic urges, the vampire can take others pain into themselves and take it away from others just by their touch.

Feed/Gain Strength from Pain (Dominant)
The Highest point in the Dominant side of this ability. Vampires at this level are real sadists. Being able to feed fully and grow stonger through inflicting horrible agony on others.

A vampire inflicting pain on onother not only gains enough energy to feed themselves, but also raises their relative power level by 2 for a short duration.

The caveat to this however, is that as time goes on, the vampire must be more and more cruel and inflict greater degrees of pain on others to get any effect on them whatsoever and it is extremely addictive. Moreso than the submissive variation.

A vampire with this level of the ability will crave fulfilling ever growing sadistic urges near constantly to the point where it can become the driving force in their existance. Luckily enough, over time the vampire is able to actually 'get their kicks' so to speak, simply from being in the same general area where such things are occurring. Fetish clubs and gatherings being extremely popular as the vampires are able to sort of 'live vicariously' through all the pain and arousal that is around them without having to indulge themselves.

Feed/Gain Strength from Pain (Master Level)
Only available to Master Vampires of advanced age, this is the apex of the bloodline ability.

The vampire can fully feed themselves through either giving or recieving pain (dependant on the vampire and only one variation is possible per vampire). Not only that, but through channeling the energy instead of feeding the vampire can raise their relative power level up to 3 levels higher than normal.

Vampires of the Flavian line with this level of their inborn ability however have to be careful. There is a cumulative chance each time this is indulged in that the Vampire will temporarily lose themselves to the urges and not stop until their victim is either simply a bloody mass of quivering barely alive or dead flesh, or on the opposite end of the spectrum until they are the quivering mass of bloody flesh.

Each successive use raises the chance of losing themselves twofold until they refrain from indulging in any sort of pain, giving or recieving for a long enough period for their bloodlust to cool down.

A side effect of this is that depending on skill level, the vampires can cause pain just with their touch if they so choose, but the more they indulge in the sadistic urge, the less they can control this until the point where their is a constant energy in their flesh and anyone touching them earns themselves near debilitating agony as long as contact is remained.
